What does vocational training at KRONEN involve?

We place high value on providing in-house training for future talents with various occupational profiles. We have been training future experts in a variety of technical and commercial professions for more than 20 years. Our team of trainers and contacts from different departments share their specialist knowledge and wealth of experience with our apprentices and support them with regular communication on their journey to successfully completing their training. 

The different stages of your apprenticeship
During your apprenticeship at KRONEN, you will get to know a variety of departments and a multitude of different tasks and activities. By actively supporting our teams, you will gain initial job experience and acquire important skills and abilities. 
Your apprenticeship will take place at our headquarters in Kehl-Goldscheuer, with the exception of apprenticeships for metal cutting mechanics, which are mainly based at our site in Achern.  

Apprenticeship positions at KRONEN

Apprenticeship as an Industrial Electronics Technician

During your apprenticeship, which will be based at our headquarters in Kehl, you will learn how to install electrical components in different areas; to service, extend and modernize systems; and to rectify faults. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include assembling systems and circuits, commissioning assemblies and systems, localizing faults and servicing electrical and electronic assemblies. 
As an industrial electronics technician, you will also be responsible for programming and configuring systems and for drafting system modifications. 

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years.

As an aspiring IT specialist for system integration at our headquarters in Kehl-Goldscheuer, you will learn how to plan, install, run and manage IT systems. You will acquire the following knowledge during your apprenticeship:

Apprenticeship as a Construction Mechanic

Your apprenticeship at our headquarters in Kehl will teach you the basics of metalworking, for example bending, punching and mounting. Your main focus will above all lie on welding metal constructions. You will also learn how to work with technical drawings and how to ensure and check the quality of your work.

The apprenticeship as a construction mechanic covers both theory and practical content. You will learn all about the technical basics at the vocational training college, while your work at the company will teach you how to apply this newly acquired knowledge in practice. 

The tasks and responsibilities of a construction mechanic at our facility in Kehl include:

  • Planning and preparing work tasks
  • Understanding and working with engineering drawings
  • Building and servicing metal constructions
  • Monitoring the dimensional stability and shape accuracy of welded workpieces and correcting them where needed

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years.  
The first year of the apprenticeship takes place solely at the Chamber of Industry of Commerce (IHK) in Offenburg. From the second year of your apprenticeship, you will mainly be based at our production facility in Goldscheuer and you will attend the vocational training college in Offenburg.

Apprenticeship as a Metal Cutting Mechanic in Achern

During your apprenticeship as a metal cutting mechanic at our location in Achern, you will be responsible for ensuring precise cutting results for precision engineering components. You will familiarize yourself with the machining methods used to process different materials and you will manufacture high-precision metal components for an extremely wide variety of technical products and highly complex production components for our assembly facilities.  
Your apprenticeship as a metal cutting mechanic specializing in turning and milling technology at our Achern location will teach you how to professionally operate automated turning and milling machines. You will also write and modify the corresponding programs for the CNC machines. 
  
Your apprenticeship as a metal cutting mechanic will mainly cover the following subject areas: 

  • Reading, analyzing and evaluating production orders and technical drawings 
  • Selecting, setting up and clamping tools and apparatus

You will familiarize yourself with the machining methods used to process different materials and you will manufacture high-precision metal components for an extremely wide variety of technical products and highly complex production components for our assembly facilities.  
Your apprenticeship as a metal cutting mechanic specializing in turning and milling technology at our Achern location will teach you how to professionally operate automated turning and milling machines. You will also write and modify the corresponding programs for the CNC machines. 
  
Your apprenticeship as a metal cutting mechanic will mainly cover the following subject areas: 

  • Reading, analyzing and evaluating production orders and technical drawings 
  • Selecting, setting up and clamping tools and apparatus 
  • Writing and importing CNC programs 
  • Operating turning and milling machines
  • Performing, monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes 

Apprenticeship duration: 3.5 years  
The apprenticeship is based at our location in Achern . The vocational training college is located in Kehl in the first year of the apprenticeship and in Wolfach from the second year onwards.
 
Requirements:  /strong>

  • Good secondary school certificate OR secondary school certificate with at least a year-long course in Metalworking at a vocational training college 
  • Good mathematics and physics skills 
  • Technical and logical understanding 
  • An interest in the profession

Congratulations to our apprentice Tim Kehret on being awarded the title of Best Metal Engineering Apprentice in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg! He was presented with this special award together with other graduate apprentices at the 2023 graduation ceremony of the local Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), held at the Europa-Park.
