Our WS Edelstahltechnik production site in Achern, Germany, recently celebrated a new technological advancement: KRONEN invests in the efficient and precise production of components for both its own machines and those of other mechanical engineering companies, including those specializing in food technology, to which WS Edelstahltechnik supplies turned and milled parts.
One example of such investments is the additional high-performance CNC turning machine with state-of-the-art technology that KRONEN recently purchased to expand production capacities at our site in Achern. The machine produced by the manufacturer Mazak is fitted with a short bar loading magazine for automatically loading raw material, which enables us to further improve the productivity of our production activities.
With this new machinery acquisition, increased automation and modern processing methods, our production facility for turned and milled parts is now perfectly equipped for the future.
Precision and flexibility for the future
This investment in modern processing technology underlines our commitment to innovation and quality. We are continuously working on bringing our manufacturing processes up to the next level and producing components with maximum precision.
The dual-spindle technology of the new machine provides higher accuracy and complexity when processing components, while its automatic loading via the bar loading magazine significantly improves our production speed and efficiency. This investment has enabled us to expand our in-house production activities and increase our flexibility, as well as further safeguard our facilities against failure and reduce our dependency on suppliers.
Our processing activities using milling machines now also benefit from an advanced method: The quick-change pallet system allows workpieces to be clamped onto standardized brackets, meaning that they no longer need to be individually aligned in the milling machine. The reduced set-up times lead to shorter production times because we are now able to switch between workpieces and orders more rapidly and flexibly. Optimal utilization of the machine has now become a reality.
Automation for an increased production capacity
The additional turning station has increased the production capacity of our team in Achern and has a lower personnel requirement thanks to its high degree of automation. The acquisition of the CNC turning machine is therefore a direct response to the current skilled labor shortage and a strategic step towards making the facility well-equipped for the future.
Our team at WS Edelstahltechnik in Achern specializes in the production of turned and milled parts, from small to medium-sized batches, as well as the contract manufacturing of individual metal components.
