The K850 and K650 drying systems both feature an integrated buffer conveyor belt that facilitates continuous processing, although the centrifuge itself dries in batches. As soon as the centrifuge drum is full, the buffer conveyor runs in reverse mode until the centrifuge is ready to receive a new product load.
The optional volume control function enables users to optimize the product infeed quantity. The function uses a sensor mounted on the upper end of the infeed belt to ensure that the product is transferred onto the buffer conveyor in an even layer.
Both the volume control function and the buffer conveyor belt have now been further optimized with several upgrades:
- The desired height of the product on the buffer belt can be selected individually, quickly and easily using buttons on the sensor.
- The length of the buffer can be selected via the touch panel, meaning that the buffer conveyor will be filled to the user’s selected value of between 40–100 % before the product is fed into the drum.
- The buffer time can also be controlled individually so that the product does not stay on the buffer belt for too long when no new product is transferred from the infeed belt.
- Once the buffer belt has been emptied and no new product is being added, the belt is switched off automatically to save energy.
The advantages for processing:
- The optimized volume control ensures that the drum is filled evenly and to the fullest possible extent – based on both the product and requirements. This enables the system to achieve excellent performance and an optimal drying degree, as well as preventing imbalance – even at maximum spinning speed.
- At the same time, the function also ensures that the product does not remain on the buffer belt for too long, thus guaranteeing maximum freshness during processing.
- The more efficient and resource-conserving process additionally helps to save costs.
The K850 and K650 are fully automated drying systems for fruit, vegetable and salad leaves. They are designed for use in continuous processing lines. The systems can dry up to 5,000 kg or 2,800 kg of product per hour.
