For cutting, washing, drying and packaging up to 1,000 kg of product per hour

The semi-automatic processing and packaging line integrates several KRONEN machines with a packaging solution from KRONEN's partner GKS Packaging. The line is used for the complete processing of the raw material to the end product packaged in bags. 

The system is mainly used for processing cut lettuce but also for cabbage and carrots as well as other vegetables that require washing after being cut. The respective capacity depends on the product and the packaging size.

The following machines or solutions are integrated:

  1. Preparing: Trimming table for 4 people
  2. Cutting: GS 10-2 belt cutting machine, optionally with a wide range of various knives
  3. Conveying: PLUS inclined conveyor belt  
  4. Pre-washing: HELICAL washing machine GEWA 3800 PLUS with dipping belt outfeed 
  5. Washing: HELICAL washing machine GEWA 3800 PLUS with vibration outfeed and an optional measuring and dosing system
  6. Drying: Two KS-100 PLUS lettuce and vegetable spin-dryers with a basket carousel
  7. Weighing: KWT 16 weighing platform, optionally with an ascending conveyor belt to the weighing platform
  8. Packaging: GKS packaging solution with
    • the FLEX L packaging machine; the bags can be optionally treated and also printed via a connection for gas flushing (MAP)
    • Outfeed belt, optionally with a metal detector
    • Rotary table for buffering

If a second product is fed into the GEWA washing machine via a second cutting machine or a second belt, for example different salads, the products are mixed simultaneously by the HELICAL washing system during the washing process.

If necessary, the arrangement of the machines and the accessories can be changed in such a way that products that are to be washed first and then cut can also be processed.

The line is ideal for packing bags with a width of up to 350 mm. For packing into small bags, a multiple-head scale can be offered as an alternative to the KWT 16 weighing platform.
